In the summer of 1975, the unincorporated community of Spottsville, Kentucky — nestled along the banks of the Green River in Henderson County — became the center of a Bigfoot flap that remains one of the most well-documented in the state's history.

Multiple families in the area reported encounters with a massive, ape-like creature standing approximately eight feet tall, covered in dark brown or black hair, with broad shoulders, long powerful arms, and a flat, human-like face. The creature was seen on multiple occasions crossing rural roads, standing at the edge of tree lines at dusk, and — most disturbingly — approaching homes.

One family reported the creature circling their house at night, pressing against walls and rattling windows. Their dogs, which normally barked at everything, cowered silently in their kennel. Another witness, a farmer, reported finding massive footprints — eighteen inches long and seven inches wide — in the soft ground near his barn. Livestock were found in states of agitation, huddled in corners of their enclosures.
